Our first project in Art Four was a reflective project, we were assigned to draw anything that could reflect, like a mirror, soup, something that reflects you as a person, or a coffee pot. For my project I decided to try reflecting myself in ,my favorite morning machine, a coffee pot. I started by drawing out a few composition sketches so I could figure out the best layout for my drawing. Once I did that I went home and photographed my coffee pot, that was filled with green water, and called it a night.
The next day Mrs. Rossi told us to play with our color schemes on different colored paper, to see what we liked the most for our projects, I ended up going with grey, and cool colors for the coffee pot. I started drawing the base first, and it was my first time using prismas so I messed up with the blending on the bottom, making it look waxy, but I learned from my mistake and used a lighter hand on the rest of the project. The end result was not what I was hoping for, but it wasn't too bad for my first time using the prismas.
If I could change anything it would be how I applied the colors, I wanted them to be more rich, so I'll have to practice a lot more. I do feel that this project was a great learning experience for me, and I am looking forward for the upcoming drawing projects.
(pictures are coming... I don't have them on this computer)
