For this I drew my bonus room, I was sitting in there over break watching TV and decided it would be a good room to draw since I'm always in it. I decided to use pen and ink for this because I've never really done that before but I always have loved the way pen and ink drawings look. It's really different than using pencil because for shading you have to do crosshatching or make the line sticker, you can't just blend it out like you could with a pencil. I really enjoyed pen and ink drawings and will definitely be doing more in the future.
With a self-portrait I decided to draw it with graphite, last time I had done one and AP I painted it and I really hated it. This one was a different perspective and a little bit easier because I'm more for familiar with graphite. Self portraits still aren't my favorite, but now I know if I'm doing them that I should always use pencil.
For this landscape I painted a picture that I had taken from an airplane when I was flying over break. I really like the colors since there was a really nice sunset going on during the picture. I also enjoyed how you could see some of the land but it was mostly dark. I like how the window framed The whole picture and I like the darkness around the window frame, it really made the sunset look even brighter.
For this Miss Ross he wanted us to draw something that you could see through another thing. I decided to draw a picture of a cupcake through a wrapper. This ended up being a lot harder than I had intended. I had to start drawing the cupcake first but also leave room for the highlights of the wrapper on top of it. Are used a few different pinks since the cupcakes icing was pink to achieve the highlights in the shadows without using any kind of black. This project, while being a great learning experience, is probably something that I would not try again.
For this project we had to draw the progression of a Hershey kiss getting unwrapped. This is a really cool project because I started off trying all the highlights and shadows in the aluminum for oil of the Hershey kiss wrapper and then was able to move on to drying the Hershey kiss completely unwrapped. This drawing took a few days but I actually enjoyed it a lot, I've never really done a project like this before and I really enjoyed the new experience.
For our first project I had to do a still life. At first I did a few sketches of a sheet draped from the ceiling, after that we did some sketches of an arrangement that Mrs. Rossi put up. I had to use my view finder to find a few different compositions, and then pick one for the final. The one I decided to do had a good variety of textures in it. I first started to do it in graphite, but decided that charcoal would be better. I did enjoy
